About
Protonmail is a widely used end-to-end encrypted email service available on both clear web and as a dark web website. Founded back in 2014, it is based at Geneva, Switzerland. The mail service is known to use client-side encryption to protect the email content and user data before they are sent to the Protonmail servers. It also has an iOS and android app. Protonmail supports PGP and abides by strict no-logs policy.
Back in 2017, the email service provider had introduced Proton Mail Contact, which is a zero-access encryption contacts manager. It uses digital signatures for verifying the integrity of the contacts data. Other services that Protonmail currently offers include Proton calendar, Proton Drive and Proton VPN.
