The darkweb markets have been the heart of darkweb. They are commercial websites on the dark web that operate through The Onion Router (TOR) or I2P. These black markets are hidden in the Tor network and primarily deal with the sale of drugs, cyber-arms, weapons, counterfeit currency, stolen credit card details, forged documents, unlicensed pharmaceuticals, steroids, and other illicit goods as well as the sale of legal products. Usually, the darknet marketplaces transact with cryptocurrencies or digital currencies. The most common crypto usage is Bitcoin (BTC)and Monero (XMR) with escrow services. However, other cryptocurrencies and several other modes of payments are accepted depending on the policy of the market or the vendor shop. Various types of dark web markets are available. Of this, the most prominent ones include vendor shops with a specific kind of product or product line while the other is solely a hidden tor-based market with a variety of categories.

For added security features and anonymity, the dark net markets utilize PGP to secure communications, multisig transactions. Some even offers finalize early (FE), where funds are released to the vendor from escrow prior product delivery. All the markets are decentralized, meaning no centralized body is associated with them.
