Why SaaS Products Feel Harder to Use Every Year
I logged in to add a task. Got 14 fields, 6 dropdowns, and a 'Quick add' button that opened 8 more options. Closed the tab. Opened a text file instead. Text files don't have product roadmaps – that's their main feature. Spent four years watching this tool go from essential to obstacle. Every quarterly release added capabilities. Every quarter, fewer people could figure out how to do the basic thing they came for. Turns out product maturity isn't feature count. It's knowing what to exclude. The CRM that needs 8 options to save one email address isn't comprehensive. It's cowardice with dropdown menus.
