Why AI Needs Memory Architecture, Not Just Bigger Context Windows
Bigger context windows are not the same as memory. Most current AI systems still rely on static retrieval and prompt reinjection, which limits continuity, adaptation, and long-term relevance. This article argues that AI needs a true memory architecture—one that can reorganize salience over time—and introduces REMT as a graph-based approach to adaptive memory beyond basic RAG.
