The Automation Paradox in Tech

The paradox of automation is a fact: our quest for greater efficiency often ends up creating additional invisible work. With engineers having to balance an increasing number of instruments, warnings, and decisions to make, we’re witnessing unparalleled levels of cognitive load and stress. As far as cybersecurity experts and engineers are concerned, one message is evident. What we need is to move away from automation at any cost to intelligent system design, which takes into consideration limitations inherent in the human component. This entails not only tool integration and process optimisation, but also deliberate inclusion of the human “judgment layer,” which cannot be replaced with any computer program.
