Inside the Dataset Powering the Next Generation of AI Text Detection

Most AI detectors label entire documents as human or machine written. Using a benchmark dataset of partially AI-generated essays and reviews, this paper introduces a model that pinpoints exactly where AI text begins at the word and sentence level. It outperforms popular proprietary detectors, especially on short and mixed texts, and generalizes well across unseen AI models.
