Inside the AI That Translates 200 Languages, Even the Ones With Almost No Data

The No Language Left Behind project from Meta builds one of the most ambitious translation systems ever created. Using a Mixture-of-Experts neural architecture, massive web data mining, and the new FLORES-200, the model translates 200 languages and 40,000 directions. It improves translation quality by 44% and aims to reduce digital inequality for low-resource languages worldwide.
