AI is no longer just assisting software teams, it is participating in the engineering lifecycle itself. That creates a new architectural gap: we can ship faster, but we still struggle to prove what happened, why it happened, who approved it, and what outcome it produced. This article argues that AI-native systems need a proof layer, an evidence architecture that links intent, authority, delivery, and outcomes into something traceable, verifiable, and governable.
