Busy but Not Better: How Fake Tech Strategy Slows Real Progress

Most companies think they have a technology strategy, but in reality they have a tool adoption plan — a “shopping list” that creates motion, not progress. Without clear business objectives, architectural principles, and coherent decision-making, teams drown in activity and deliver inconsistent results. True velocity comes from alignment, not tools. Organizations that define identity → capabilities → architecture → then tools move faster with less chaos. Technology strategy is ultimately a set of deliberate choices, not a catalog of platforms.
