Three alleged German men are about to face trial for selling a wide variety of drugs on a now-defunct dark web marketplace, Wallstreet Market. The indictment had accused those three men of earning over 211,000 euros via at least 2,756 transactions on the darknet market. The accused trio belonged from Germany, North Rhine-Westphalia and Herford. The group had also allegedly sold over 22.7 kgs of drugs that included cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine, marijuana amongst the others.
The German law enforcement had earlier seized the Wall Street Market (WSM) back in May 2019. But they had waited till February 2020 for launching an investigation into the alleged group. The cops had used the information that they obtained in the investigation of the servers and evidence from the other drug cases. They came to know that the alleged group had a supplier in the Netherlands. After their supply of drugs had been received from the Netherlands drug supplier, the group had taken the product to a Herford apartment.
The indictment had accused the alleged trio of selling various narcotics like cocaine, amphetamine, ecstasy, marijuana, methamphetamine and heroin. The group had sold all of these drugs on various dark web marketplaces including the Wallstreet Market anonymously.
One of the defendants from Herford, aged 30 years, had allegedly conspired with the group for distributing drugs by arranging his apartment as a base for the operation. He had also permitted the group to use his Herford apartment as a warehouse for storage and packaging.
Another defendant from the same region aged 31 years had allegedly masterminded the complete drug distribution operation. The authorities had accused the man to have controlled the vendor accounts on the dark web. He had received orders from the customers on various darknet markets and then he had forwarded the order information to his co-conspirators for labelling and packaging. He had physically mailed the drug packages, as the indictment stated.
The last defendant aged 28 years had joined the group after they were successful in establishing a name for themselves on the different darknet marketplaces including Wall Street Market back in October 2019. The authorities had alleged that his role in the drug operation included packing of the drugs matching specific orders as the group’s leader had described. He also used to deal with the customer complaints regarding the quantity, quality and the shipping delays of the drugs. Additionally, he used to assist the group leader by dropping off the packages at the nearby post offices.
The German law enforcement had executed the search and arrest warrants in May last year. During one of the searches in the apartments involved with the conspirators, the cops had seized Bitcoin (BTC), firearms and drugs. The trial has been scheduled to begin on the 10th of February, 2021.
