US Teen Owns Over Twenty Two Crore Worth Bitcoin Via Twitter Hack


A Florida-based mastermind has recently conducted a mega Twitter Bitcoin hack. The teen defendant owns worth over $2 million Bitcoin, which in the Indian currency is estimated to be over 22.5 crores. The accused has been identified to be Graham Ivan Clark aged 17 years and has been charged by the DOJ or the US Department of Justice. Two more individuals have also been identified and charged for the same where the trio had hacked the Twitter last month and compromised accounts of 130 high-profile celebrities, businesses and politicians that includes Apple, Barack Obama, Bill Gates, Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, Joe Biden and Uber.

As per a local news outlet, the Tampa teen had made his very first court appearance over the weekend and has described in more excellent details on how they say he had pulled Twitter Bitcoin hack off. Clark had appeared on a video screen in front of the County Judge named Joelle Ann Ober of a small courtroom. Under Florida law, it had taken ten per cent of the $750,000 bail set worth $72,500 in the bid to free Clark’s pending trial. He is currently facing state charges because he is still a teenager or a juvenile as per the federal authorities.

Clark has hired two individuals, one of 22 years age named Nima Fazeli of Orlando and the other of 19 years age named Mason Sheppard of the UK as proxies for manipulating Twitter employees and access the system of the company.

“Prosecutors sought bail at $1 million per charge for each of Clark’s 30 counts and argued Florida case law says he must prove the money used to post his bail was legitimately obtained”.

“Because, based upon the conduct of this defendant, I believe it’s appropriate to assume that every single penny that this defendant has access to is by ill-gotten gains,” the prosecutor was quoted as saying. “And we’re talking about millions of dollars.”

With the Twitter Bitcoin hack commit, Clark faces one count each of the organised crime, 11 counts of the fraudulent use of the personal information and 17 counts of the communications fraud. Mason Sheppard (aka “Chaewon”) aged 19 years belonging from the UK has been charged under a criminal complaint lodged in the Northern District of California for conspiracy to commit money laundering, conspiracy to commit wire fraud and also accessing a protected computer intentionally.

“Nima Fazeli, aka “Rolex,” 22, of Orlando, Florida, was charged in a criminal complaint in the Northern District of California with aiding and abetting the intentional access of a protected computer,” the Department of Justice said in a statement last week.

Twitter has unveiled that the massive Twitter Bitcoin hack that has spread a cryptocurrency scam by hijacking the accounts of the politicians, high-profile celebrity and businesses was the outcome of a phone spear-phishing attack. The attackers have targeted 130 Twitter accounts and tweeted from 45 of the accounts and accessing the Direct Messages (DMs) inbox of 36 and also downloaded the data of seven Twitter accounts.

The incident has raised concerns around the levels of employee access and Twitter tools.
