The US investigators have traced the darknet deadly poison search in a device that was owned by a murder suspect named Yorgen Fenech. The sources have revealed that the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) had flagged the darknet deadly poison searches last year to the accused Yorgen Fenech, who is a casino owner. The poison happens to be Potassium Cyanide. This incident had happened just a couple of months back before his arrest for the murder of the victim named Daphne Caruana Galizia, a journalist.

As revealed, the searches were done on the dark web, which is a part of the internet and is not indexed by the search engines. The “not indexing” situation provides the best path for criminal activities. All the websites located on the dark web are linked to the organized crime and include narcotics trafficking and the illicit arms dealing.

The accused who made the darknet deadly poison search utilized a username and password that helped him access the dark web websites. This further aided him to access the pages for the potential purchase of the darknet deadly poison in a considerable amount that is capable of killing an adult male weighing 80 kgs (176.37 pounds).

Sources have stated that the matter was subjected to a police investigation. It is not yet clear who was behind the intended target of the poison. Nevertheless, the investigators have not excluded the concept that it was intended for the murder middleman, Melvin Theuma, who later turned to be a State witness in the case.

At this point, this is just a theory, as stated by the sources. In this regard, there is another theory – the darknet deadly poison could have been meant for himself.

Kurt Zahra, the homicide inspector, has confirmed in the court that the FBI was investigating an alleged attempt that Fenech had made for procuring a fast-acting darknet deadly poison which is usually a potential chemical.

Jason Azzopardi, the parte civille lawyer, had questioned about the alleged attempt which immediately drew the protests from the defence team of Fenech. The cops were also considering the other issues that were discovered in the course of their investigations as the inspector states.
