The patter of these attacks was studied very carefully by the Canadian cybersecurity research team which led them to draw to a surprising conclusion. According to the team, all the three attacks that were targeted to two different communities were actually sponsored and funded by the Chinese government. Actually, the malicious attack dubbed Poison Carp was the brainchild of the Chinese government itself. Besides the malicious threat dubbed the poison carp, the researchers also found a new type of threat named the OAuth which leaks information from users Gmail accounts by convincing them to go to a decoy page designed to convince them that the app served a purpose.
