Two dark web pedophiles have been handed lengthy prison sentences for possessing a massive haul of indecent images of children and child pornography. The blood brothers reportedly had in possession, over 1,000 pictures of which were either image of torture or bondage.

The blood brothers, 36-year old Adam Christopher Collard and his brother Joseph Alan Collard 31 were sentenced to 27 years and 17 and a half years, in federal prison respectively. The oldest of the blood brothers, Adam, is also to pay $68,00o in restitution, while his younger brother Joseph was ordered to pay $39,000. The duo was convicted by a federal jury on multiple child pornography charges in Kalamazoo back in June.

The blood brothers from Eaton Rapids, were also ordered by U.S. District Court Judge Paul Maloney, to serve a mandatory 12 years supervised release after they finish serving their sentence.

During their appearance at a federal court in Kalamazoo, it was revealed that one of the sources of their indecent images and videos of children came from a campground in Grand Haven. According to court documents, the blood brothers had in their possession a document titled “The Pedophile Sex Manual,” folders with names such as gay boys, bib cam kids, after school incest and a video of the raping of a toddler.

Reports from Investigators also revealed that the blood brothers got and shared most of their sickening images of minors, on a child-pornography sharing marketplace on the dark web. The blood brothers reportedly distributed files containing child porn to numerous IP address across the United States and also across the globe to countries like Germany, France, the Philippines, and Saudi Arabia.

Adam and Joseph reportedly lived with their parents, in Eaton Rapids and carried out their criminal activities from there. A search warrant executed on their house uncovered computers with hundreds of child pornography and images. A second search at the campsite in Grand Haven also yielded the same results.

The blood brothers were arrested and charged back in 2015 after the FBI launched an investigation into Playpen, then the largest child pornography marketplace on the dark web.

The sentencing of the Collard blood brothers, adds to the earlier sentencing of a Man from Franklin, for downloading child pornography on the same dark web marketplace as the two brothers. Earlier in March this year, 43-year-old Brandon Spicer was handed a nine-year prison sentence and a lifetime probation sentence for child pornography-related charges, with stem from the 2015 investigation of Playpen.

The FBI started their investigation into Playpen after they had received a tip in December 2014 from a law enforcement agency outside the states. The FBI was prompted to the fact that there was a dark web marketplace called “Playpen,” which was sourcing and sharing child pornography.

The FBI then launched an investigation into the then-largest child pornography website and orchestrated the most massive known hacking operation in the history of U.S law enforcement. The investigation, which was dubbed ‘Operation Pacifier,’ led to the shutdown of the dark web market site, which followed with over 900 hundred arrests and prosecutions of users. The FBI created malware and used it to hack the dark web site and operated it for over three weeks without any member noticing. They then hacked and traced over 2000 computers of suspected users of the dark web marketplace.

According to the FBI, the dark web marketplace had over 150,000 users across the globe at the time of the takedown. It was also revealed that members of the site, posted child pornography videos according to the categories there which were by sex, age, and the type of abuse involved.

The Naples, Florida native was believed to have created the marketplace in 2014 and was its administrator for some time before the site blew up.

58-year-old Steven W. Chase, the creator of the dark web marketplace was arrested on December 2014 and sentenced to 30 years in federal prison on May 2017, after being convicted of multiple child exploitation and child pornography charges.

The Naples, Florida native was believed to have created the marketplace in 2014 and was its administrator for some time before the site blew up. 46-year-old Michael Fluckiger, one of two co-defendants who were identified as one of the administrators of the dark web child exploitation site, was also sentenced to 20 years in prison for his role in the Playpen. The Indiana native was arrested on March 2015 and pleaded guilty to charges against him on December 2, 2015.

The second co-defendant, David Lynn Browning, 47, was also sentenced to 20 years in federal prison coupled with a lifetime term of supervised release for engaging in the dark web sexual exploitation of children. The Kentucky man was arrested on July 2015 and pleaded guilty to charges against him in December that same year.
