Ammanford Paedophile Jailed: Over Thousand Child Indecent Images Recovered

An Ammanford man has recently been caught as he held thousands of indecent images of children as the court has heard. The accused has been identified as Paul Randle aged 50 years, who has been described to be a shameless paedophile who is addicted to child pornography.

The prosecutor, Tom Scapens, has told the court that the accused was arrested following a police raid at his residence in Ammanford on the 6th of November last year. In the raid, a number of the electronic devices were seized from the property. A forensic examination was carried out that unveiled over 2000 indecent images of children and as well as software for accessing the darknet and the onion links to the renowned paedophile websites. Apart from these, another 118,000 images have been found on various devices, but they are not yet examined.

Adding to these, it was also being found that the 50-year-old accused had been actively involved in the online chats regarding the sexual abuse of the children. The accused, a resident of the Saron Road, has denied downloading the indecent images at an interview conducted by the police and later had claimed to have been attempting to expose the paedophiles online. Later on, he revealed that the pictures were a part of his job, and quickly he flipped again by changing his story back and stated that someone was blackmailing him.

The accused has pleaded guilty earlier to three counts of creating the indecent children images and three counts of distributing the indecent pictures while he had appeared for the sentencing. The court has also heard from the prosecution that the accused had been working with a therapist after his arrest and was making a stringent effort to address the current issues he had.

Judge Geraint Walters had described the images that Randle had downloaded to be “amongst the most appalling imaginable.” The Judge has sentenced prison to the accused to a total of two years and four months. Before being released on license for serving the remainder in the community, he will have to serve up to half of his sentence. The accused will also be on the sex offenders register for a decade on account of sexual harm prevention order for a similar period.
